About

Thornhayes Nursery is run by Kevin and Pat Croucher who started the nursery in 1991 on a 13-acre site. The nursery now covers 33 acres of field and container grown trees, and the expansion of the nursery reflects the establishment of Thornhayes as one of the top tree nurseries in the country.

Thornhayes is located in rural Devon among beautiful open fields and yet it is only 10 minutes from the M5, making it very accessible and well worth a visit. Expert advice is available on designing, planting and managing trees, both large and small scale. The nursery also offers a grown-to-order service, site visits and consultancy service. In addition, a range of courses about how to plant and care for your trees are offered throughout the year to offer the complete tree package!

If you are interested in joining the ‘Grow Your Own’ campaign then Thornhayes Nursery can offer you not only quality fruit trees but also advice to make sure you buy the right tree for your needs and site.

A combination of plantsmanship and commercial growing skills results in the production of one of the broadest ranges of trees available in the UK, which includes an extensive choice of broadleaf and coniferous trees and hedging, plus hundreds of tree fruit varieties.

Trees are produced to a high quality, with healthy roots and a well formed crown at a competitive price to appeal to both wholesale and retail customers. Container grown trees are in peat free compost.

This is a nursery where expertise abounds. Kevin and Pat’s passion for horticultural professionalism, topped with a good customer service, means that they welcome all customers whether you are looking for one tree for your back garden or several for your country estate – they have the capacity.
